Happy Sunday!
I was telling Tom about my idea for the newsletter this morning... just as a seagull managed to poop on both of us at the same time.
I’m taking that as a good sign for today’s topic!
Every week I get ideas for the newsletter from conversations with my PT Sian.
Partly because she is very wise, but also because we spend the whole session chatting so a golden nugget is bound to come up.
On Wednesday we spoke about how the hour our clients spend with us is not the most important part of their week.
This might sound strange coming from two business owners who provide a service for their clients. But whether it’s teaching marketing or personal training, it’s not a magic wand.
What it will do is give you the motivation, knowledge and accountability to keep going and get the work done in between your sessions.
When we work together we’ll look at your marketing, see what’s working, what isn’t and make a plan to get you to where you want to be. It could be more sales, clients or even newsletter subscribers.
But I won’t do the work, that’s up to you.
When you sign up with a PT they’ll usually give you a plan to help you achieve your goals, whether it’s training for a marathon, increasing your fitness or just feeling good.
They won’t do the work, that’s up to you.
(Which can be frustrating when you’re planning a long Sunday run and it’s just started to rain)
The work that you do on your own is the hard bit, but it’s when you get the best results.
It's writing the blog post about a question your clients have asked, or creating lots of social media posts when you're feeling inspired.
It’s when you take everything you’ve learnt and feel confident enough to promote your business yourself... or run a marathon if you want to.
I work with lots of clients who are feeling overwhelmed and stuck at the moment. Marketing is the one thing they need to do, and the last thing they want to do.
While I don’t have a magic wand to do the work for you, I do know how to make it easier, less overwhelming, simple and fun.
Get in touch if you'd like to have a chat about working together and getting your first hour sorted!
